Return to your ways and build your ultimate nerd cave. Here’s what happens when proud nerds get high-paying careers: They make crazy, expensive, nerd caves and kingdoms. All hail the thick-rimmed glasses!

Here are seven of the sweetest nerd caves inspired by sci-fi, games and more.

Created by Electronics System Consultants, this home theatre set-up is equipped with everything a Trek fan could ever want. It comes complete with captain’s chair, motorized sliding doors and theatre-style lighting. These consultants haven’t nailed down the transporter quite yet, but it already feels like a jump into the distant future!

2. Game obsession

Attention to details is a characteristic many accomplished people can boast—and then there’s the fanatical collector’s attention to detail. This fan collects all that he can when it comes to gaming. While this nerd cave is a little bit more affordable—as it doesn’t require any massive structural alterations—we can’t ignore the fact that the collection would have taken years and thousands of dollars to acquire.

3. Lord of the Rings (LOTR) mural

Films are art in themselves and this fan decided to pay tribute. The best part? The wall light seamlessly works with the dragon’s mouth.

4. Re-styled bedroom

When you’re a fan of middle earth and you have money then you may choose to surround yourself with middle earth. This Lord of the Rings fan went the extra step by creating a bedroom modelled after their favourite castle. Even the mock-window looks out onto Rivendale, while stone floors and walls give this abode a cozy, castle-feel. In the left corner is the bed, nestled into a nook, just like a hobbit would appreciate.

5. Harry Potter kid’s room

When you grow up a nerd and your kid is a nerd, guess where you spend the money? This parent opted to transform their child’s room into a Harry Potter inspired retreat. The bed was turned into Weasley’s flying car and there’s even a suitcase-style dresser. While this could seem kitschy to some, we think this kid is the coolest nerd in school!

6. Death Star theatre room

Nerds loooove their theatre rooms since it is where they engage with their favourite films or games. We think the dark side would be so much more enticing if it had a sweet home theatre set-up like this one. There are 10 seats, vintage posters, a life-size replica of a stormtrooper and R2D2, plus a chair so comfy that it should be considered intergalactic.

7. Batcave home theatre

This home theatre looks like it was taken right from multi-billionaire Bruce Wayne’s penthouse mansion. But, this is real-life. Modelled after Batman’s bat cave it includes seven comfy leather seats with cupholders as well as steel panels that open and close to reveal the viewing screen.
