To help determine what lottery has the best odds, we examined each lottery based on the total number of tickets available for sale and the total number of prizes available to be won in the main prize draws. Based on this, we calculated the “odds of winning” for each charity (except for Alberta’s Full House Lottery, which currently does not publish the number of tickets available for sale).
We recognize that this is a rudimentary calculation; it’s meant only to help you assess your theoretical odds. Your actual odds of winning will depend on how many tickets are sold, whether or not tickets are re-entered into subsequent draws (thereby reducing your chances of winning), among other factors.
