This old Victorian mansion, located in the small town of Macon in central Missouri, has a past. Built in the 1870s, the house was rumoured to be haunted by the spirit of a woman whose father, a coal baron, was murdered during a labour dispute. In the 1940s, it was the house of Butch Patrick’s grandma, the actor who played Eddie Munster in the 1960s sitcom about a family of monsters.
In 2014, Patrick bought the house with plans to turn it into a destination — a place where guests could spend a weekend in surroundings reminiscent of “The Munsters” creepy mansion at 1313 Mockingbird Lane.
Of course, not all of us can or want to live in a haunted house, but some of us do. Here are seven examples of homeowners who took their house decorations to an entirely new level!
