Katz Group and ONE Properties
Two real estate juggernauts have come together to create the ICE District in downtown Edmonton. Katz Group, the owner of the Edmonton Oilers, is more well known for its involvement in the world of sports and entertainment. However, by partnering up with the city of Edmonton in 2008, to create the Edmonton Arena District (which became the ICE District in 2015) the company was launched into the property development sector. After the completion of the Roger’s Place Arena in 2016, the ICE District became a beacon of capital investment for business owners, real estate developers, and the tourism industry.
Naturally, the Katz Group wanted to follow up on their initial success. As a result, the firm is responsible for a soon to be complete, 1,300 multi-family residence complex that spans across three main towers. To make this development a success, Katz Group partnered with ONE Properties. The three towers — known as The Legends Private Residences, Sky Residences, and a yet to be named tower — will offer direct access to everything the ICE District has to offer, including a multitude of restaurants, shops, and direct access to Roger’s Place.
