Led by Ewan Stewart, the firm\u2019s forward-thinking president, Azura Management (Kelowna) Corp. is, once again, turning its attention, to the Riverside neighbourhood in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zolo.ca\/penticton-real-estate\">Penticton<\/a>, a city less than an hour south of Kelowna in the B.C.\u2019s sun-drenched interior. This time the build plan was for a luxury townhouse development in the heart of the downtown core, but with enough glamour and high-end finishes that even empty-nesters and vacation-property owners would find the project appealing.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zolo.ca\/central-okanagan-real-estate\">Okanagan<\/a> interior is well-known as a popular vacation destination. Cities in this area typically boast quaint main streets, artisan-inspired mom and pop shops, along with the advantages of big-city amenities, such as large grocery stores, chain big-box stores, movie theatres, waterslides and even golf courses. One of the biggest draws, however, is the area&#8217;s world-class vineyards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"grapes-help-the-region-to-grow\">Grapes Help the Region to Grow<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Okanagan Valley wine region is Canada\u2019s second-largest wine-producing area, behind Ontario\u2019s Niagara Peninsula. There are 182 licensed wineries in the area with many located on the shores of Okanagan and Skaha Lakes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The area\u2019s growth took decades but not all neighbourhoods benefitted from the ongoing progress \u2014 including a largely neglected waterfront district on the south end of Okanagan Lake and the west side of Penticton\u2019s downtown core. While developers focused on building yet more condos and commercial units in other parts of Penticton, this eastern side of Penticton\u2019s downtown core languished \u2014 until Stewart realized the opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"redefining-downtown-living\">Redefining Downtown Living<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zolo.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/T3E-10-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"View of a light blue couch within a living room adjacent to a kitchen\" class=\"wp-image-14936\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Just minutes from the Penticton River Channel \u2014 the waterway that connects the Okanagan and Skaha Lakes \u2014 the 35-luxury townhouse project, known as Riverside, started being built in early 2019. Eighteen months later the contemporary project is now complete, right on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But getting to this place, took a bit of foresight and work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an interview last year, Stewart stated that the project would \u201ctotally rejuvenate\u201d the entire neighbourhood. And it did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project, known as The Riverside, offers 35 townhomes built on the site of the former Highland Motel and the adjoining Park Royal RV and camping park, located near Riverside Drive, Wylie Street and Burnaby Avenue in Penticton, B.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proverbial shovel hit the dirt at the start of 2019 and now, 18 months later, the project is wrapping up \u2014 right on schedule. The result is a new face of Penticton\u2019s east side and 35 large, luxury townhomes in the heart of downtown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"project-details\">Project Details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"694\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zolo.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/T3E-6-1-1024x694.jpg\" alt=\"Penticton, BC new build Azura Management\" class=\"wp-image-14934\"\/><figcaption>The 3rd Eye \/ Azura Management Corp<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Standards at Riverside are high. All 35 townhomes offer a two-car garage, open plan living and dining, and rooftop and master bedroom decks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stewart explained that the vision was to build 35 family-size homes that were suitable for urban professionals, amenity-seeking downsizers, as well as second-property owners who wanted upscale finishes and a worry-free investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The units are finished in a contemporary, modern style that includes selected designer finishes, like floor-to-ceiling glass doors that can be folded out of the way to bring the outdoors in or the choice between double master suites or three-bedroom layouts, as well as the rooftop deck equipped with gas barbecue and hot tub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To optimize suitability, the townhomes come in four distinct layouts and range in size from two-bedroom to four-bedroom units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is the ultimate in luxury living at an affordable price,\u201d says Dylan Nihte, a Zolo Realtor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/youtu.be\/JcICe442Dlg\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The developer hired top-end designers so that each townhome boasts finishes typically found in higher-end Vancouver properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The community is minutes away from the waterfront, the city\u2019s events centre, the Penticton Golf &amp; Country Club, and walking distance to downtown restaurants and pubs. While the development began as a potential opportunity for urban professionals to live and work in the city\u2019s core, the development\u2019s flexibility and luxury ended up appealing to a variety of buyers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"694\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zolo.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Penticton-Azura-Development-luxury-kitchen-1024x694.jpg\" alt=\"Luxury townhouse white and grey kitchen \" class=\"wp-image-15336\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Urban professionals love the community\u2019s proximity to downtown; families love the large layout and plenty of storage space; retirees and those looking for a vacation home that is easy to rent out, love the designer, luxury finishes as well as the freedom from home maintenance and yard work.
